Welcome to ES Arabians
Located in the small town of Axel, in the southwest of Holland, hidden between typical Dutch fields and emerald green trees, lies the beautiful farm of Els and Alphons Stegeman. A white plastered barn overlooks sunkissed grass fields where exquisite Arabian mares graze while their precious little foals run, play, discover the world, and grow towards a most promising future.

About Us
We are Els and Alphons Stegeman and since 1994 we are passionate breeders of Arabian Horses.
Our adventure started when we met the Bakker family from whom we bought a mare called Sharani B (Bora x Shieka). Later we added the two Amal daughters Raquin and Shieka both carrying from the Menes son Prismen. It was the beginning of a life long devotion to the Arabian horse. In 2005 we moved to our current location, creating the perfect place for our newly aqcuired broodmares to raise their foals. We are a boutique breeder with a few select foals each year, and we are – and have been for many, many years! – enthusiastic visitors of and competitors in Arabian horse shows.
ES Type
Having started out with Russian bred mares we do have a love for a certain amount of substenance and style. But who can deny those big, dark eyes of Ali Jamaal? Having seen that oh so special Ali look we fell in love instantly and have shaped our breeding program accordingly. Through his famous son Dakar el Jamaal, Ali is well represented in many mares within our program. We aim to breed Arabian horses that can compete in the main ring while still keeping that little bit of extra strenght and body through the use of Polish bloodlines, sometimes with just a dash of Russian or Crabbet blood. And of course, they all have the disposition that the ‘Ali’ lines are world renowed for! Always with their tail up, as well as oh so affectionate towards humans and other horses alike.
Art
Els is an accomplished artist that has specialized in the painting of Flagstones. Her art is sold worldwide and is a popular prize that organizers give away as trophies and special gifts at Arabian Shows. Stones, as well as paintings can be made upon request. Many portraits of beloved Arabian horses have been made and sent worldwide, but of course horses of other breeds, or even different species of animals, are painted with an equal amount of love and care.
